Legacy/Planned Giving

Legacy gifts create lasting impact—and ensure that New Leash On Life can continue saving and caring for animals well into the future.

There are many meaningful ways to make a legacy gift. You can add New Leash On Life to your will or living trust, name us as a beneficiary of your IRA, life insurance policy, or investment account, or make a gift of stock or appreciated securities. You can also support our long-term sustainability through a contribution to our Endowment Fund at the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee.

These thoughtful gifts provide a foundation of support for the animals, programs, and future of New Leash On Life. To learn more or to let us know you’ve included us in your plans, please contact Angela Chapman, Executive Director, at 615-444-1144.

Will

Remember the dogs and cats served by New Leash On Life in your will, living trust, or insurance policy. By naming New Leash On Life as a beneficiary, you can leave a legacy that saves the lives of displaced dogs and cats, connecting them with forever families who will love and care for them for years to come.

Here’s an example of the language you can use when making a bequest in your will:

“I, [name], of [city, state, ZIP], give, devise, and bequeath to New Leash On Life [written amount or percentage of your estate or property] for its unrestricted use and purpose.”

Please use our legal name: Humane Association of Wilson Co, Inc. dba New Leash On Life, and our Federal tax ID # 62-1048196. If you have included New Leash On Life in your estate plans, please let us know so we can properly thank you for your generosity.

Want to make a lasting impact for animals in need? A gift to our Endowment Fund is a powerful way to help ensure the long-term sustainability of New Leash On Life. Your support today helps guarantee that we’ll be here tomorrow—rescuing, healing, and rehoming dogs and cats for generations to come.

Our Endowment Fund is held at the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, and contributions to it provide ongoing support for our programs and services. Give to our endowment fund and support our financial future.

IRA

If you're 70½ or older, making a charitable gift directly from your IRA is a simple and tax-smart way to support the animals at New Leash On Life. These qualified charitable distributions (QCDs) count toward your required minimum distribution and can reduce your taxable income—while providing critical support for our life-saving programs.

Your gift will go straight to work helping pets in need through our Adoption Center, Paw Pantry, and The JOY Clinic for low-cost spay/neuter services. To make it easy, we’ve created a sample letter you can use to share our information with your IRA administrator.
