New Facility


Thanks to the Patricia and Edward J. McGavock Humane Treatment of Animals Fund, administered by the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, we recently purchased four acres of land which will be the future site for a new animal welfare center.  Patricia McGavock's wishes for these funds to help animals in Wilson County will be realized. The property is located at 2550 N. Hwy. 109 in the city of Lebanon. We chose this property because of its central location and high traffic count.

This facility will allow us to help even more animals and offer more services to our community. We have been raising funds for several years, however, much more is needed to build and fund a new, larger facility. We need all members of New Leash on Life to rally together to help support our dream of a better place to help animals in Wilson County.

Purchasing this land was a huge step toward the dream. Watch for new fundraising programs in the near future. Thank you for all for your support.

In our new facility we intend to have the following:

  • More comfortable living space for the companion animals in our care
  • Rooms for people to meet and interact with the animals waiting for adoption.
  • An inviting lobby area
  • A veterinary clinic
  • Training and education room
  • Bathing and grooming area
  • Rehabilitation area for injured or ill pets

We work for a future were our shelter will cease to exist as there will be no unwanted, unloved or abandoned pets. Some of the ways we accomplish this are through an owner education program and an aggressive spay/neuter campaign.

  • Cleaning Supplies (Bleach, Laundry detergent, dish soap)
